ERTA has long been exploring the possibility of developing single track in Kessler Park, near downtown Kansas City and including Cliff Drive. The potential in the park is great with a combination of proximity to downtown and the historic northeast. The terrain includes steep slopes and historical features within the woods.
Unfortunately Kessler Park has been long neglected and there will be significant challenges with trash issues and invasive species. We will be partnering with local neighborhood groups as well as KC Wildlands in the future to help address some of these issues.
2013 will finally see the start of this project. Initial flagging and corridor clearing will be starting this winter and spring. Hopefully the fall/winter of 2013/2014 will see rideable and runnable trail open.
